Ryan, Megan, and Alex's Albany & Woodbury Itinerary
Saturday, February 16, 2013 - Monday, February 18, 2013

Howdy! It's been a week since we enjoyed 80-degree weather in Florida, so now it's time to head north and drop the temperature into the 20's! We're headed up to Albany for the long holiday weekend so that we can finally experience some real snow this winter. It's also the month of too many birthdays, so we'll be having a party with Megan's parents to celebrate!

Today starts off with another early morning with little to no sleep. We'll be touching down in Albany [1] and on the road by 10:30am. Our first stop will be the New York State Capitol [2] because we're on some sort of a kick to see as many capitol buildings as possible. From there, we'll head to the closed-for-the-season yet still "open" Martin Van Buren National Historic Site [3]. After growing some awesome mutton-chops, we'll head a couple hours south to Hyde Park, which will probably put Alex to sleep. Once we arrive, we'll check out the Vanderbilt Mansion [4], FDR Home [5], and Eleanor Roosevelt [6] National Historic Sites. We were here back in 2009, but it started snowing and those places closed early. There's snow in the forecast again, so who knows what'll happen this time around! After that, we'll make our way to Megan's parents [7] sometime after dark.

We'll get today started sometime in the mid-morning (9 or 10ish) to make our long drive back up to Albany. If things go as planned, we might stop by one of our favorite museums: MASS MoCA [8]. Not only does it have a bunch of cool exhibits, it includes several floors featuring Megan's favorite artist: Sol LeWitt. By this point, it'll be time for dinner and our flight home [9]. We should be back at home around 10:30... with another flight and trip scheduled just 5 days later!

Where you at?? We are never 100% on time to our destinations, so we've taken all the guesswork out of figuring out where we are by broadcasting our GPS location. You'll need to manually refresh this page to see our latest movements, but so long as we get cell phone signal, you'll be able to see where we are!
