Ryan, Megan, Alex, and Katie's Detroit-via-Cleveland Itinerary
Saturday, September 10, 2016 - Monday, September 12, 2016

Howdy! It's been a long time since this website has been updated, and it's been a long time since we've taken a trip - over 2 months! Things are likely to slow down even further, as Alex has started going to Kindergarten. But, thanks to a plethora of teacher professional days, we have a chance to squeeze in a few flights this Fall! Our first is taking us just a bit further west to Michigan. The main reason for this trip was to follow the Orioles to Detroit as they try to (miraculously) get into the post season. But to get there, we'll need to go through Cleveland. It was either that, or have a layover in Atlanta (really?) on the way to an evening arrival in Detroit. Rather than waste the day in the air, we'll pick up a rental car in CLE and drive out to DTW. We'll naturally come home from the Detroit area on Monday. Let's go!

All times are local to the particular city. This trip will take place entirely in the Eastern Time Zone (0 hours behind Eastern, duh).

Howdy! Today starts with a not-too-early flight out to Cleveland, Ohio [1]. We'll need to find some indoor activities around town [2], as it's expected to be pretty rainy all afternoon. We'll likely grab a bite to eat in the early afternoon and then start making the 3-hour drive west to the Detroit metro area. Our hotel [3] is near a mall, so we'll likely get some dinner in the shopping center and then head off to bed.

Today is Patriot Day. Can you believe it's been 15 years? Can you beleve a current high school freshman wasn't even born on that fateful day? Wow... And on that note, it's time for baseball [4]! That's pretty much our entire day today. Game time is around 1pm, while everyone else will be watching the Ravens home opener. We'll likely get to the stadium a bit early so the kids can get their promo hats, and then we'll stick around late so Alex can run the bases after the game. By then, it'll be getting late. Our hotel [5] is less than a mile away, so we'll either walk or take the people mover back.

It's already our last day! The plan for today is somewhat up in the air, but there's a good chance we'll spend most of it in Canada [6]. This'll be Katie's first trip out of the country! We can't stay long, so hopefully we won't be held up by customs, as we need to catch our evening flight home [7].

And if that's not good enough, we've still got our guesstimated route highlighted below...
